Saidah Namwanje :Our custodian summoned For National Duty

Luweero Giants Queens custodian Saidah Namwanje is among the new players added to the Uganda U20 Women’s National Team that is currently at the Fufa Technical Center-Njeru preparing to face Kenya in the return leg of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier.

The custodian who managed to keep a clean sheet last Sunday in our 0-8 pre-season  victory over Kituti Girls FC in Tirinyi-Kibuku District, was part of the initial squad summoned by head coach Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi but did not travel with the team to Kenya.

Saidah has joined the camp today together with other new additions and these include winger Ronah Regina Nantege, Midfielder Phiona Nabulime, Right back Winnie Kwatulira and Striker Allen Nassazi.



Uganda registered a convincing win (7-2) in the first leg of the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers at Nyayo National Stadium and the return leg is slated for 8th October at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

The winner on aggregate between Uganda and Kenya face either South Africa or Mozambique at the next round (second qualifying phase).
